Their goal is to maximize the benefits of information technology while minimizing its complexity and total cost of ownership. Today the company has over 1,600 employees in over 90 countries. Progress is headquartered in Massachusetts, USA, and is a worldwide leader in application infrastructure software. Progress supports service-oriented architecture (SOA) deployments with products that easily create, connect, mediate and control interactions among business services. In addition, Progress continually provides new technologies that provide solutions for such emerging areas as real-time event processing, SOA governance, and federated data service management. All Progress products are standards-based, and interface with a wide variety of business applications in today's heterogeneous business environment. Services Oriented Architecture Products Using an SOA approach, information systems are built from shared components called "services" which automate discrete business functions. A services infrastructure connects, mediates, controls and monitors these services and their communications to support and optimize business processes. Specialized integration capabilities of the services infrastructure enable legacy systems to take part in an SOA environment. | Visit the Progress website >>> | | Simplify Integration Business applications are the most visible part of your enterprise, but without the right data and SOA infrastructure, you may not be realizing their full potential. Build a service-oriented architecture (SOA) with Progress Sonic ESB and applications can share services and seamlessly interoperate. Add governance with Progress Actional and you'll gain much needed security and visibility into your SOA. Use Progress DataXtend Enterprise for data integration and the enterprise will be able to leverage one of its most important assets, data. And if you need to manage high velocity event streams, with or without an ESB, Progress Apama ESP enables you to monitor, analyze and act on that data in real time. The office was established in Lund, Sweden at Ideon, one of the oldest science parks in the world. One of the company's first assignments was to develop a tool for analyzing multi-dimensional data. While developing a solution for this customer,it struck the founders that this was also a solution to a general problem that many organizations have. This led to the development of QlikTech's patented in-memory associative technology. They called the new software they developed QlikView because it provided a point-and-click-simple way to view data and information. After applying for patents, version 3.15 was launched in 1997 and could be installed as a standard program on PCs. At first the company grew slowly, but by 2004 there were over 1500 customers across the world. The company was now considered a highly successful Swedish software company, but it faced a decision. Was QlikView a Nordic phenomenon, or a global one? At the end of 2004, Accel Partners and Jerusalem Venture Partners, the premier global venture capitalists made an investment in taking QlikView global. Since then the growth has been rapid. Today QlikView has more than 438,000 users in 90 countries, over 9,740 customers, and continues to add an average of 14 customers every day. | | | | | |
